Environmental Education Day in Russia Date in the current year: May 12, 2022. Environmental Education Day is observed on May 12 in Russia and other CIS countries. This annual ecological observance was established in 1991 to emphasize the importance of environmental knowledge in all sciences and fields of human activity.
Various environmental activities are organized to observe this holiday. These activities include events that bear both educational and practical character, thematic exhibitions, conferences and children's art competition on the theme of nature conservation. Another environmental activities, like park and shores cleaning and landscaping, are also held.
The environmental education is very important for people. The environmental knowledge is crucial to the realization of close relationship of mankind and nature, the way how our activities can harm environment.
