Amel Barich, IAGETH National Chapter (Morocco) elected as new IUGS Councillor (2014-2018). Amel Barich received a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. in Earth Sciences from Mohammed V Agdal University in Rabat, Morocco. She is currently completing her PhD in metamorphic petrology and geochronology in the Andalusian Institute of Earth Sciences in Granada, Spain. Amel has been the Vice-President of the YES Network since 2012 and the chairperson of its communication team. Amel's research focuses on the study of the role of nanogranites in reconstructing partial melting history of high grade orogenic terrains in the western Mediterranean.
