For the first hour in office of the head of state President of the United States Joseph Biden cancelled about two dozen decrees of his predecessor Donald Trump, including those related to the ecology and environmental protection:

1. He stopped the construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada. It is a branch of the larger Keystone pipeline system that supplies oil to the U.S. from the Canadian Hardisty oil terminal, Alberta. In this province, the Athabasca bituminous sands field mines up to 1.3 million barrels of oil daily. The cost of oil produced at this field is relatively high, for the bituminous sand is mined first, and then the crude oil is extracted from it. In addition, use of this method to mine the energy resource damages the environment.

2. On the first day of the work of the new administration, Biden ordered to impose a temporary moratorium on Trump's executive order to lease land in the Arctic National Reserve in Alaska to energy companies for mining of oil and gas

3. On the return of the United States to the commitments of the country under the Paris Climate Agreement. He spoke about this in his election campaign.
