Prepared by the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation “Statue of permits for activities in Antarctica” was approved by the Government of the Russian Federation. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed the appropriate regulation June 27, 2013. Simultaneously “A procedure for reviewing an applications and issuance of authorizations for activities in Antarctica” which had been approved by the Government of the Russian Federation December 11, 1998 was terminated. The “Statue…” must improve antarctic activities control and increase influxes of investments and professional community for ensuring protection of the national interests of the Russian Federation and for project activities in Antarctica.
