The interactive nature Museum was launched in Kronotsky National Biosphere Reserve (Kamchatka territory, RF). The opening ceremony took place on 1 November 2013, and was dedicated to «birthday» of the natural reserve. The exhibition presents the unique ecosystems of the Kronotsky Biosphere Reserve and South Kamchatka Sanctuary. By virtue of the new Museum visitors will be able to take part in a guided tour and watch the video scenes in 3D. Students of Elisovsky boarding school # 1, children's educational center “Flash” and the children’s art school were the first visitors.
November 1, 1934, the Presidium of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR adopted the resolution on the recognition of the Kronotsky sable reserve as a state nature reserve of the Union meaning. This date is considered as the official date of reserve creation.
The Kronotsky National Biosphere Reserve is located in the Eastern part of the Kamchatka Peninsula. The total area of the reserve is more than 1.15 million hectares which includes 135 thousand hectares of marine area, the length of the sea border is 243 km. From 1985 the Kronotsky Biosphere Reserve was included into the international network of biosphere reserves and from 1996 it was included in the world heritage list of UNESCO. Unique natural objects are situated on the territory of the Kronotsky Reserve: the Valley of Geysers, the Valley of Death, Kronotskaya Spoka Volcano, rising 3,528 meters above sea level, the 15-km diameter caldera associated with Uson Volcano, the Kamchatka or Graceful Fir grove, Kronotskoye Lake, the larch forest of the Kronotskoye Lake basin, Chazhminskiye hot springs, Tyushevsky hot springs, Semyachiksky hot springs, the Semyachiksky Liman, Burlyaschy Volcano, Shchapinskie spruce forests.
