From 20 to 22 November the Third International scientific-practical conference “Ecological Geology: theory, practice, and regional problems” was held at Voronezh State University (Voronezh, the Russian Federation). The event was hosted in the framework of the European Conservation Year and timed to the 95th anniversary of Voronezh State University. Scientists, representatives of researches and educational institutions, business communities, public authorities, local self-government, geological and ecological companies were attended the conference.
Problems of changes in ecological functions of Earth’s Spheres, ecological consequences of human activity in geospheres, rational use of mineral resources, reproduction of mineral resources base, recreational nature use, ecological monitoring were discussed on the conference. A special attention was paid to issues of waste management in Voronezh regions, their impact on environment. Status of the Voronezh reservoir was the special area of discussion. The conference was a good base to look for new ways to do ecological problems. It afforded opportunities to give the benefit of experience and hear about successes and innovations.
